I took this photo on our travels through the centre of London! |
At 6:45am we set off on the surprisingly nice coach which seemed to take a lifetime but as we neared London the bus driver said we only had 5 minutes to go, I think we were all relieved. However it was too good to be true, instead of the Olympia he took us to the Olympic Stadium. What a nightmare haha! An hour or so later we did end up in our desired location.
When we entered the exhibition hall it felt exactly like it was last year, with all the amazing companies in the industry showcasing what they have produced as well as trying to sell their products. We all split off into different groups and had a wander around the event. It was interesting to speak to different people who all do different jobs, and it was also good to see what other eLearning companies were doing, as it gave us some ideas of how we can use different methods to engage the students we create the eLearning materials for. One company had created a scenario based game to teach students how to learn English and I think this would be great to implement into our work as it's something we haven't done much of.
Even though it had only been a year you could tell how much technology has evolved in eLearning especially with a lot of companies using the Oculus Rift and even one company using some sort of 3D hand technology (I have no idea what it was called but it looked cool!).
This is from when we went to the Olympic Stadium instead haha! |
After receiving a tape measure from Adobe and a sweatband from eLearning Brothers it was time to call it a day and begin the journey back to Barnsley. Overall I don't feel like I got as much out of the day as I did last year however I did enjoy the small amount of time we spent there.
Thank you so much for reading!
